Eased government restrictions on construction has allowed Accor’s Mount Lofty House, located in the picturesque Adelaide Hills, to set November 2020 as the opening date for its six-star VIP experience, Sequoia.
Nestled separate to the original hotel, the $15 million Sequoia will offer guests access to some of the region’s prized experiences including touring the famed RM Williams factory, a visit to the source of the property’s boutique amenities or an opportunity to hear local Indigenous stories at a twilight campfire.
Sequoia is in the final stages of construction on its guest reception and lounge, breakfast room, gardens, sundeck and spring-fed hot pools. The property features 14 guest rooms, each 75 square metres in size, coupled with views over the valley. A sunken lounge room will feature a stone-clad gas fireplace, while bathrooms will offer a rainfall shower, double vanities and premium amenities.
Guests will have access to a private club lounge, manicured gardens, sun deck and heated infinity swimming pool. The nearby three-hatted Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant, Arthur Waterhouse Lounge and Stables Day Spa will also be open to guests of Sequoia.
Mount Lofty House General Manager, Jesse Kornoff, said the COVID-19 pandemic had allowed the property to further improve the guest experience and provide the highest levels of luxury.
“Our brand is all about celebrating special moments, human connection and making people feel special, which is more important now than ever, so we have worked hard to maintain that magical experience,” he said.
Sequoia was preparing to open in late 2019 however slight construction delays and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic caused a significant push back to opening festivities.
