Choice Hotels Asia-Pac has provided a boost to its management portfolio, signing two new franchise members to its Comfort and Quality groups in South Australia and New Zealand.
Located in Mount Gambier, South Australia, the newest Australian addition to the group comes in the form of Comfort Inn The Lakes, which is a short walk from the area’s famed Blue Lake attraction. Guest facilities include an indoor heated pool and spa, fitness centre and ‘Grab & Go’ breakfast bar.
The second addition sees Choice Hotels add to its Quality brand in Christchurch through the introduction of Quality Suites Amore, which is located next door to the Riccarton Bush forest popular with visitors and residents. The property features apartment-style accommodation, an indoor pool, continental breakfast options and parking facilities.
Choice Hotels Asia-Pac CEO, Trent Fraser, said he was pleased to see such overwhelming support for the regeneration of the tourism industry among both existing and new franchisees.
“It’s undeniable that the hotel and travel industry has been dramatically impacted as a result of the pandemic, but as we begin to journey through to the other side of it, I am thrilled to welcome these new properties at such a critical time,” Fraser said.
“Hotels in our network are already seeing the benefits since travel restrictions have eased, so I have no doubt that these new properties will experience a similar, positive uptake across their business.
“We’re steadily on the road to recovery, and it’s more important now than ever for owners, particularly those who are operating as an independent, to consider the benefits of partnering with a brand. The resources available to them via marketing programs, and a well-established and global distribution footprint have shown their value in a time of crisis.”
