Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced a changing of the guard at Hyatt Regency Sydney, installing Jane Lyons as the property’s new General Manager.
A widely respected industry leader, Lyons moves to her new role from the GM spot at West Hotel Sydney, Curio Collection by Hilton – a change of desk and company but only one block down the street, with both properties located on Sussex Street in the Sydney CBD.
She replaces Malcolm Zancanaro at the 892-room property, who remains with Hyatt and whose new role will be announced shortly. Zancanaro was in charge of the property from its debut and oversaw its transformation from Four Points by Sheraton in 2016.
Lyons brings more than two decades’ experience in luxury and premium hotels to her new role, having worked across many different departments at such establishments as Savoy Hotel Group in London, The Langham London and Langham Place, New York.
Commenting on her new role, Lyons said she was excited to be joining the Hyatt team and leading the team that has made the hotel into a trusted and respected brand in Sydney.
“In these unprecedented times, my first priority is to provide support and reassurance to the hotel team while we ready ourselves for recovery post-COVID-19,” she said.
“I look forward to working with our clients and partners as we navigate the new environment in the travel and events industry moving forward.”
