Quarantined travellers at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth were this week treated to a second live performance by Accor as a gesture of appreciation to mark their final nights before being allowed to return to their everyday lives.
On the bill this time was Opera Australia Principle Soprano, Jane Ede, who wowed the crowd with a powerful rendition of ‘O mio babbino caro’ by Puccini. She was followed by an example of amazing talent within the ranks at Accor, with three of its star employees – Jodie Goodwin, Josephine Stark and Olivia French – demonstrated their amazing vocal skills with a series of songs including Peter Allen’s timeless ‘I still call Australia home’ classic.
“It was a wonderful and unique experience and I hope that all the quarantined guests enjoyed it as much as we did,” said Ede.
“The sight of the audience waving lights and cheering from their balconies was really amazing and is something that we’ll all remember.
The concert followed a similar event last month featuring Sydney artists Soul Nights, Johnny Diesel and DJ Troy T, whose sets were all met with wild applause from the balconies above.
“We are doing everything we can to ensure our guests have a comfortable and pleasant stay with us, despite being confined to their rooms,” said Sofitel Sydney Wentworth GM, Sam Panetta.
