Accommodation rates on a break-even basis have been provided to the Salvation Army by Quest Apartment Hotels in the next phase of its collaboration with Housing All Australians to provide vulnerable Australians with a secure place to stay.
The act builds on the tie-up late last year between the two organisations which is being led by former Frasers Property Australia General Manager, Robert Pradolin, also founder of Housing All Australians (HAA).
The addition of the Salvos sees the initiative reach wider parts of the community helped by the charity, which for decades has worked to assist individuals and families at risk of homelessness through providing essential services including emergency accommodation.
Quest Chief Operating Officer, David Mansfield, said the company has been working with HAA since the middle of 2019 to try and make a meaningful impact on the issue of homelessness, particularly in the wake of the struggles COVID-19 is throwing at society as a whole.
“Now more than ever, that partnership has become paramount, and it is a privilege to be able to help in whatever way we can. We are grateful for the hundreds of passionate Quest franchisees around the country prepared to support this incredibly important initiative with us.”
Salvation Army National General Manager, Homelessness, labelled the partnership as a wonderful example of the Australian spirit.
“We do have demand for additional accommodation across Australia especially in response to the needs of families. By pulling together with caring corporates like Quest and offering a safe, supportive place for disadvantaged Australians, we can make a huge difference to the lives of many in these tough times.”
