While this edition was produced during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, there was plenty of good news to share including new hotel signings, new brands unveiled, acquisitions and exciting global partnerships which will come to fruition in the months to come. There was plenty of industry steel and resilience as the full magnitude of the Coronavirus took shape, with cities and towns across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific all pledging to stay strong and ride out the downturn and emerge stronger than ever.
Also in this edition, we meet six of the accommodation industry’s strongest female leaders, each of whom has opened up on their career journey and are nothing short of an inspiration to young people coming through the ranks. Make sure you check it out on Page 42.
Other highlights of HM April include a chat with Nando Pellicano as the Pellicano brand continues to make its mark on hotel development. We also look at three leading hotel television platforms on Page 40 and check in with two exciting interior designers over on Page 56 on their individual approaches towards standalone hotels compared to mixed-use.
