Accor has opened the first five-star hotel in New Zealand’s Bay of Plenty region in the form of the Pullman Rotorua in response to rising visitor numbers to the destination famous for its volatile but spectacular geothermal geysers.
Under the watch of General Manager, Richard Bungaroth, and his team of over 100, the hotel features 130 rooms with views of the city and lake area. Facilities include all-day dining at Barrel & Co Bar & Grill, which features an open kitchen for locally-sourced produce, premium grill selection and craft beer and local wine menu.
Guests can also utilise an additional bar area, fitness centre, executive lounge, boardroom and flexible conference facilities capable of catering to up to 120 theatre style.
Accommodations include superior king rooms, superior twin rooms, deluxe rooms and executive suites, which Bungaroth says will provide a welcome haven for guests after a big day of outdoor activities.
“The city has beautiful forests and lakes for mountain biking, luging and water sports, spas for relaxation and wellness, and renowned geothermal attractions. No matter what visitors are in Rotorua to experience, we’re in the centre of it all at the Pullman and we’re addressing a need at the top end of the market which wasn’t being met before.”
