Another new brand from the Hilton family is on its way to Australasia, with the company today announcing its sixth label in the region will be opened in Christchurch in the form of The Modern Christchurch, Tapestry Collection by Hilton.
The upscale addition, which launched in 2017, joins the five other brands either currently operating or in the Australasian pipeline – Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Conrad Hotels & Resorts, Curio Collection by Hilton, DoubleTree by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn – the latter debuting in the Melbourne suburb of Bundoora in 2021.
The Modern Christchurch, Tapestry Collection by Hilton becomes the group’s 27th hotel in the Australasia region and is a franchise agreement with Sarin Investments Limited in partnership with Tailorspace Limited.
Located in central Christchurch, The Modern will offer guest rooms starting at 34 square metres, with Deluxe Suites at 45 square metres. At present, the number of rooms to be offered by The Modern Christchurch hasn’t been finalised. Guest facilities will include a ground-floor restaurant and bar, fitness centre, on-site parking and will be decorated with large-scale prints created by artists from both the local area and other parts of New Zealand.
Hilton Vice President Development, Australasia, Rob Scullin, said he was delighted to again be working with Sarin Investments on another new property for New Zealand.
“Hilton presently has two other franchise agreements with Sarin Investments for DoubleTree by Hilton Wellington and DoubleTree by Hilton Napier Hotel & Suites, which is projected to open in the first quarter of 2020.”
The Modern Christchurch, Tapestry Collection by Hilton is on track to open in the third quarter of 2021.
