Hospitality skills training institution, The Hotel School, has expanded its on-campus operations to Queensland, opening its third Australian campus in Brisbane.
As part of a partnership with Southern Cross University and hotel developer Mulpha Australia, the new Brisbane campus has been opened as a key step towards addressing the skills shortages being experienced across the tourism industry Australia-wide. The city is currently in the process of developing and launching the Queen’s Wharf and Brisbane Live precincts, both of which will create tens of thousands of new hospitality jobs in the years to come.
The launch of The Hotel School’s new campus was celebrated with an event attended by local business leaders, school captains and leaders as well as students.
Via its existing campuses in Sydney and Melbourne, The Hotel School says it maintains a 95% employment record for students within six months of graduation, with 70% of students finding industry work prior to graduating.
Southern Cross University Vice Chancellor, Professor Adam Shoemaker, said he was very pleased to be launching a new campus in Brisbane for the institution.
“Southern Cross University is a leader in the hotel and tourism management field with outstanding rankings and graduate employment outcomes. Key to this success is our alignment to a premium brand in Mulpha Australia bringing industry expertise and practical experience benefits to our students at The Hotel School.”
According to The Hotel School, the organisation is the only example of an education provider in Australia formed through a partnership between a public university and a global hotel investment group. Classes at the new campus officially began last month.
