Celebrities, local sporting stars, government and business dignitaries and the hotel’s namesake artist, Matt Adnate, joined together to formally cut the ribbon on the 9th and newest Art Series Hotel, The Adnate in a glittering soiree in Perth this week.
Marking the first time the brand has ventured across Australia to the west coast and the first Art Series location dedicated to street art, the 250-room Art Series Perth – also known as The Adnate – features a catalogue of striking and emotive murals, canvasses and prints of Indigenous cultures from around the world including Australia, New Zealand, America, Guam and throughout Asia. Prints are scattered throughout each floor and within each room, providing a colourful backdrop for guests at every turn.
The evening featured entertainment from local DJs and performers including floating contortionists alongside glamourous fashionistas and dancers both on land and a sunken platform in the pool. Multiple activations were in place throughout the hotel, ranging from a Verve Cliquot champagne bar in the lobby through to interactive VR street art simulators and the main party itself inside Hyde Perth Kitchen – Australia’s second Hyde establishment which comes as part of a joint venture with Accor partner, sbe Entertainment Group. A third Hyde is due to open next week in Sydney at the former Hacienda Bar at the Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour.

Speaking at the opening, Accor Apartment and Leases SVP Operations, Mark Hodge, said Matt Adnate was a natural choice as the property’s namesake artist.
“Matt Adnate has brought this colourful and soulful hotel to life with his powerful multicultural portraiture. He uniquely saw the development as a canvas to tell a story about Perth’s cultural and community connection and his works have completely transformed the property, inside and out.
In addition to Adnate himself, in attendance were several of the Indigenous stars showcased in his work including local WA elder Nathan McGuire, who appears on top of the 25-storey mural adorning the hotel’s east-facing exterior. Another model, Piiata Heenan, whose portrait appears along a 50-metre long collection of portraits alongside the hotel’s entranceway, was also in attendance.
Former Fremantle Dockers Captain, Matthew Pavlich and Australian Survivor contestant Jarrad Seng completed the celebrity contingent.
