Ongoing growth and new hotel signings in the Australasian market for InterContinental Hotels Group brands has seen the company promote two of its internal development stars.
Abhijay Sandilya, who joined the company in 2016, has been recognised for this success by being elevated to the role of Vice-President Development, Australasia, Japan and Pacific. The new role and responsibilities will see Sandilya expand his geographic development presence for IHG in this region and better allow him to capitalise on emerging opportunities. The new role will see Abhijay continue to be based in Sydney.
At the same time, a number of new duties will be taken on by Jael Fischer in her new role of Senior Manager, Development, Australasia & South Pacific.
Fischer joined IHG last year and has been paying dividends ever since, playing a vital role in the recent strong growth of the company’s brands, particularly Holiday Inn, across metropolitan and regional Australia, New Zealand and the wider Pacific. Her new senior role will see a greater level of responsibility for a wider range of brands taken on as part of the IHG senior leadership team in Australasia.
