Manhattan by design, Sydney by location – TFE Hotels has opened the doors to the fourth Vibe branded hotel in the NSW capital with Vibe Darling Harbour welcoming guests from today.
Owned by Icon Oceania and designed by WMK Architecture, the 145-room property on Sussex Street reflects the feel of a classic New York City loft with oversized double-glazed windows overlooking Sydney’s inner west, located in the midst of Darling Quarter and Chinatown.
Public and guest facilities include a rooftop bar, entitled Above 319, which sits alongside a rooftop heated pool. On the ground floor, visitors will find The Sussex Store, both of which take inspiration from the Mediterranean but also features an Asian twist. The new dining outlets come under the control of Executive Chef, Lynn Clemente, who moves across from Shangri-La Sydney.
“The opening marks a very exciting point in the ongoing refresh of our Vibe Hotels brand, which will soon have another three exciting contemporary new additions in Melbourne, Central Hobart and in Adelaide,” said TFE Hotels Chief Operating Officer, Chris Sedgwick, who added the new hotel is a perfect blend of old and new.
“Brickwork was chosen to fit the character of the street and, when you stand in some of the lower level rooms and look out of the enormous windows onto Sussex Street, it’s this brickwork that frames the view and ties old and new together.”
