A NZD$12.5 million (AUD$11.6 million) renovation at Nesuto Auckland Stadium will see 72 two-bedroom apartments converted into 144 hotel rooms, effectively doubling the property’s capacity, the serviced apartment operator has revealed.
The project, due for completion in January 2020, will see a total of 244 keys available at the property, with the new rooms to be added to the property’s existing available mix of studio and one-bedroom apartments, which will all be fully refurbished at the same time.
Works will also see the addition of a restaurant and bar with seating for nearly 120 customers both indoors and on an alfresco courtyard. Further, the hotel’s lobby will be upgraded along with bandwidth improvements to the complimentary WiFi available to guests.
Nesuto Daiwa Living Group, which recently rebranded from Waldorf Apartments, said it was delighted with the feedback it had received from guests across its network following the name change.
“Feedback tells us our guests embrace the Nesuto concept and this is a reflection particularly on our Team that are empowered to represent the brand.”
Building owner Mulpha International said Auckland was continuing to grow as a major corporate, events and tourism destination in New Zealand.
“Mulpha is excited by the opportunity to support this growth through a substantial upgrade and expansion of Nesuto Auckand Stadium which is centrally located to Spark Arena, the Auckland CBD and other major Auckland tourist attractions,” Mulpha International, CEO Greg Shaw commented.
