A range of new sales and marketing opportunities to a global network of luxury-focused travel advisors around the world has been opened for Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour, after the hotel was admitted as a member of the Virtuoso Luxury Travel Network.
The network consists of 17,500 travel advisors worldwide which specialise in the luxury sector and have access to a portfolio of high-yielding clients. Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour becomes the group’s newest supplier partner, which includes more than 1,700 suppliers in 100 countries covering airlines, hotels and resorts, cruise lines, tour operators and more.
Offering 590 rooms, the hotel owned by Dr Jerry Schwartz is one of Sydney’s newest newbuilds and opened in late-2017, shortly after the opening of the adjacent International Convention Centre. The property offers a rooftop infinity heated swimming pool, French-inspired restaurant, Champagne Bar, fitness centre, business and meeting facilities and the Club Millesime executive lounge on the 35th floor.
“As the first Accor property in the Pacific region to be invited to join the prestigious Virtuoso Hotels & Resorts portfolio, it is an exceptional credit to Greg and his team and true recognition of Sofitel’s French luxury service for which the brand is globally renowned,” said Accor Chief Operating Officer – Pacific, Simon McGrath.
Virtuoso Asia-Pacific Marketing & Commercial Partnership Manager, Adrian Clarke, said the travel network had seen a 23 per cent increase in visitor numbers heading to Australia in the last two years.
“Sofitel Darling Harbour will bring a level of luxury to our Australian offering, which we know our high net worth clients from across the globe are looking for.”
Virtuoso clients receive perks from member hotels including an upgrade subject to availability on arrival, daily breakfast included, US$100 food and beverage credit, early check-in priority, 4pm late check-out and other exclusive amenities.
