Plans to double the Raffles network are set to continue with Accor today announcing two new resort properties have been added to the brand’s existing pipeline in Asia.
Raffles Sentosa Resort and Spa Singapore will become the brand’s second location in the Lion City and comes 135 years after the first opened its doors, bringing the brand to life for the first time. The resort will comprise villas ranging in size from the 260 square metre one-bedroom villas up to the 450 square metre four-bedroom villa. Each will feature a private swimming pool and views over the South China Sea, with public facilities including multiple restaurants, a bar, fitness centre, ballroom and two meeting rooms. The resort is scheduled to open in 2022.
Further south, Raffles Bali comes six years after first being flagged in 2013. The resort will be positioned in Jimbaran Bay, south of Denpasar. Situated on top of a hill, Raffles Bali will offer 32 villas, each with its own private pool. The resort will include a Writers Bar, Spa facility and a central restaurant serving local cuisine, with an opening date currently diarised for 2020.
Combined with a further two forthcoming Raffles properties in India, the two new resorts in Singapore and Bali will help the brand on its journey to expand by at least 50 per cent in the Asian region, said Accor Asia Pacific Chairman and CEO, Michael Issenberg.
“Accor is now the second largest operator of luxury hotels in the world, with over 600 luxury and premium hotels and resorts globally. We have found strong demand amongst owners and developers for the Raffles brand because it is truly one of the most illustrious hospitality brands in the world, renowned for offering guests unparalleled levels of discreet service in exceptional buildings that quickly become the epicentre of their destinations.
“The Raffles brand belongs to only the best projects and locations so it will always remain a curated collection, but we definitely see scope for careful and considerate growth,” Issenberg added.
