Accor has introduced its newest crop of newly-promoted and relocated General Managers, who are now set to take charge at hotels across Australia.
Novotel Newcastle Beach has welcomed Edmond Power as its new leader. Highly experienced in a number of different roles with Accor in a variety of locations, Edmond’s career to date with Accor includes roles in Operational and Talent Leadership as well as acting as National Chair of Accor’s Inclusion and Diversity Committee. He comes to his new role after four years as Franchise Operations Manager for NT, QLD and WA.
Down in Tasmania, Mantra Charles Hotel in Launceston now has a new GM in charge in the form of Dougal McConnell. An Accor veteran with nearly 20 years’ experience, McConnell has plied his trade at both city hotels in Melbourne and Sydney as well as the contrasting dynamics of regional properties in Mandurah, Creswick, Alice Springs and at another hotel in Launceston.
Heading west, Tom Cykowski will take command of Ibis Styles East Perth. Firmly established in Western Australia, Cykowski has overseen the conception, development and opening of the Discovery Rottnest Island as General Manager – Development. Also on his CV is time as General Manager at Ramada Eco Beach in Broome and GM at Fitzroy River Lodge.
Still in WA, Silvester Toth is the new General Manager at Ibis Styles Kalgoorlie. Rising through the ranks via Food & Beverage roles both in New Zealand, Dubai and Abu Dhabi, Toth’s experience includes time with Naumi Hotels in Auckland and Wellington as well as Heritage Hotels in Queenstown.
