Wyndham Hotels and Resorts will plant its first Ramada-branded flag in Wellington from late 2020 as the company announced a newbuild hotel is on the way to the New Zealand capital.
In partnership with Safari Group, the signing continues the company’s growth objectives in New Zealand. The 93-room Ramada Suites by Wyndham Taranaki Street Wellington takes Wyndham’s New Zealand pipeline to seven hotels, three of which will open across the country this year.
“Arrivals to New Zealand have increased by more than 50% since 2010, due in part to its rising popularity in countries such as China,” said Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, South East Asia and Pacific Rim President and Managing Director, Joon Aun Ooi.
“It is vital therefore that Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has a strong and trusted partner in the country, and we are extremely happy to deepen our relationship with Safari Group. We look forward to working together to introduce even more high-quality hotels to destinations all across New Zealand,” he added.
In the second half of 2019, Wyndham will open three new Ramada branded properties in the form of the 85-room Ramada Suites by Wyndham Auckland Manukau Pacific Centre; the 47-room Ramada Suites by Wyndham Auckland Victoria Street West and the 131-room Ramada Hotel & Suites by Wyndham Queenstown Central.
