Attention has shifted to Canberra as Quest Apartment Hotels – opening at nearly one new property per week so far in 2019 – has enlisted ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr to cut the ribbon at Quest Canberra City Walk.
Quest General Manager – Franchise, David Ridgeway joined Barr and franchisee Fahim Malik at the launch, handing over an official plaque which now resides in the lobby. Malik is also the franchisee of Quest Canberra, which opened two years ago.
The company’s newest property is the third Quest to open nearly in as many weeks and follows the opening of doors at Quest Docklands and Quest South Perth Foreshore.
Developed by Sandran Property Group, Quest Canberra City Walk features 84 apartments in studio, one and two-bedroom configurations. As per brand standards, all apartments offer a kitchen or kitchenette and internal laundry. The property also offers a car park, conference facilities, a business centre and high-speed wi-fi connectivity.
Canberra is witnessing a booming demand for accommodation at present, with recent Tourism Research Australia statistics recording a 9.1 per cent jump in international visitors, helped by direct flights from Singapore Airlines and links from Qatar Airways, while domestic visitation is also up 3.1 per cent.
“The opening of Quest’s second property is a further signal of the confidence investors have in our city,” Chief Minister Barr said.
“The convenient central city location will no doubt have wide appeal to both the business and leisure traveller coming to Canberra.”
