A new 17-storey newbuild in the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of Malvern will become home next month to AccorHotels’ new Sebel outlet.
The Sebel Melbourne Malvern has been developed in conjunction with ownership firm Dalmeera Group and will offer 98 apartments in the form of 46 one-bedroom, 36 two-bedroom, 12 deluxe two-bedroom and four three-bedroom serviced apartments – each offering full internal kitchen and laundry facilities. Once open, the new outlet becomes the 28th Sebel-branded location for the brand in Australia and New Zealand.
Guests will have access to an executive lounge, fitness centre and jacuzzi as part of an outdoor terrace also fitted with BBQ facilities. External boutique retailers will occupy dedicated retail space at the 803 Dandenong Road street level.
AccorHotels Pacific COO Simon McGrath said the new Sebel would work to address the “limited accommodation supply” in Malvern.
“This is a strategic and significant new apartment hotel development for the inner-city suburb of Malvern which is currently experiencing a resurgence of ultra-modern new developments, due to its close proximity to Melbourne’s bustling CBD.
“We jumped at the opportunity to introduce an upscale apartment hotel to Malvern with Dalmeera Group, a burgeoning area in need of stylish accommodation options,” McGrath added.
Malvern is a rapidly growing region of Melbourne’s inner-city around 8kms from the CBD and features a number of green spaces. It is connected by a train station and three tram routes.
