Hilton will double the presence of its flagship brand in Sydney, announcing today it has signed a deal with Ledrae Hotels to manage a new-build hotel in the heartland of Western Sydney, Parramatta.
Taking its Australasian portfolio to 24 hotels and resorts, with a further nine in the pipeline, the move to open doors in the NSW capital’s ‘second CBD’ in the western suburbs highlights the growing business, government, commercial and residential profile of Parramatta.
Hilton Parramatta will feature 240 rooms and five suites for guests alongside a fitness centre and outdoor swimming pool. Public facilities will include a main restaurant and bar. Guests will be a short walk from ‘Eat Street’ – the name affectionately given to two blocks of restaurants on Church Street, as well as a Westfield shopping centre, the soon-to-open Western Sydney Stadium.
It’s no secret Parramatta is booming as a sub-economy of the state. In recent and coming years, several NSW Government departments and Ministerial offices will shift to Western Sydney, adding to the growing number of industries and sectors following suit out of the Emerald City’s traditional CBD.
Hilton Australasia Vice-President of Development, Rob Scullin, said he was thrilled to be partnering with Ledrae Hotels to bring the Hilton name to Parramatta.
“Today’s announcement bears testament to Hilton’s strength in Australasia and we look forward to welcoming guests to the hotel with Hilton’s signature hospitality.”
VP of Operations Australasia, Heidi Kunkel echoed Scullin’s remarks.
“The introduction of this new property has created an exceptional opportunity for us to bring our renowned brand of hospitality to the greater Sydney area and further expand our portfolio in the destinations that matter most to guests.”
Construction of Hilton Parramatta, located on the corner of Macquarie and Marsden Streets, will begin in 2020.
