Following a NZD $500,000 makeover, Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour has relaunched its elite-tiered Opera Suite, which is available for the cool nightly rate of NZ$3,500 for two people.
Formerly known as the Prestige Suite, the hotel says the renovation works have been completed in time for Auckland’s upcoming peak summer season.
Working closely with design house ECC, the suite has been redesigned to a more open-plan layout, complemented with a private eight-seat dining room complete with wood-crafted dining table. The Master bedroom comes complete with an ensuite with rain shower and deep bathtub overlooking the Auckland Marina below.
A lengthy Minotti sofa and swivel armchairs, the latter of which are able can rotate 180 degrees to face the window together act as a centrepiece to the living area. A further furnishing highlight sits on a Minotti desk near the window – a restored limited edition Achillee Pier Giacomo Castiglioni ‘Snoopy’ lamp, originally designed in 1967 but now sporting a matte-black finish.
The hotel’s HM Award-winning General Manager Jeremy Healy said the Opera Suite and its preceding name has been a “home away from home” for high flying guests from around the world for many years.
“We’re delighted to reveal our new-look Opera Suite, which will appeal to our loyal clientele and attract a new market of discerning guests looking for that next level of luxury, with absolute privacy overlooking the Waitemata Harbour, Sky Tower and the city skyline.”
Room rates include airport transfers in both directions, riding in the hotel’s own luxury Jaguar vehicle.
