Holiday Inn Melbourne on Flinders has completed a multi-million dollar refurbishment of all its guest rooms, bathrooms and suites.
Designed by architects Wilson & Hill of New Zealand, each of the 202 rooms were gutted and remodeled with the modern traveller in mind, with floor-to-ceiling windows, new interiors, and electronically switched block out blinds which can be controlled by the bedside, while a further seven rooms were added to its stock.
The bathroom, luggage rack and wardrobe were all re-fitted to give a living room ‘feel’ and large HD TVs have been integrated into a wall panel with HDMI and USB connectivity, allowing travellers to connect with free wi-fi.
The bathrooms have also been completely renovated and now feature large showers and an opaque window into the bedroom to fill the room with natural light. What’s more, all fittings are water conserving, minimising the hotel’s the impact on the environment through the IHG Green Engage™ system.
Wilson & Hill Director, David Hill, said: “The refurbishment of the existing rooms provided an opportunity to create modern hotel rooms and corridors containing up-to-date features and fittings. The materials, finishes and colours create a contemporary Melbourne interior with a high level of quality.”
Holiday Inn Melbourne on Flinders Hotel Manager, Garry Beadel, added: “The hotel offers a new and fresh experience to our guests. We know that everyone will enjoy our modern rooms and stunning bathrooms, no matter if they are travelling for business or leisure.”
