Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group’s Radisson on Flagstaff Gardens Melbourne will mark its 20th birthday with a year-long program of events.
Originally the Victoria Police headquarters from 1977 until 1995, the building received a multimillion-dollar conversion during 1997 – 98 to become Radisson on Flagstaff Gardens Melbourne.
To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the hotel has launched an event program that will begin tomorrow (Feb 8). The hotel plans to give away 2,000 gourmet sausages at Flagstaff Gardens from 11:30am – 1:30pm. The cook-off welcomes city residents, the public and local office workers by serving up ‘good old Aussie snags’ accompanied by homemade chutney from the hotel’s HQ’s on William Restaurant and Bar. The hotel will also donate some of these snacks to Sacred Heart Mission.
Radisson on Flagstaff Gardens Melbourne general manager Clinton Farley says, “The success of the hotel over the past 20 years can be put down to a number of attributable f actors, including consistent service, its ideal location at the top end of the city with ease of access to freeways, opposite Flagstaff Gardens and station, adjacent to Queen Victoria market – a Melbourne must-do and within the Melbourne free tram zone. The hotel is ideally located for ease of access to the best combination of nature and city and has maintained a consistent level of service, welcoming many loyal guests.”
Inspired by the number 20, the hotel has also committed to raising $20,000 during the year for a local charity. Globally, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group maintains a key focus on engaging in community and environmental practices through the company’s Responsible Business focus.
Radisson on Flagstaff Gardens Melbourne has 184 rooms, and is served by a meetings/functions/banquet level with capacity ranging from ten to 160 for sit-down and 220 for cocktail-style, while HQ’s seats 80 people.
