Club Med has this week (Jan 17) opened its latest resort in the heart of Japan’s skifields.
Club Med Tomamu in the Hokkaidō region of Japan joins the company’s 70 premium and luxury all-inclusive resorts worldwide and is on part with Club Med’s promise of opening a minimum of one new snow resort each year.
The ski-in, ski-out resort is also the latest that takes all-inclusive to a whole new level, which means packages at Club Med Tomamu include accommodation, all day gourmet dining, open bar, Kids Clubs, activities, lessons, lift passes, evening entertainment and transfers.
Designed by Jean-Philippe Nuel in a modern, chic aesthetic reflective of its surroundings, Club Med Tomamu brings the beauty of Japanese nature into the resort.
The resort’s 341 rooms provide a range of stylish options suitable for couples and families alike, including triples and suites.
For thrill-seekers, 29 runs, spanning 21kms beckon; suitable for beginners through to advanced levels. Worldclass powder will reward snow enthusiasts with skiing and boarding, snow trekking, snow biking, snowmobiling, snow rafting and more.
The experiences continue off-the-slopes, including ice slides, skating, an ice bar and dining at the local ice village; fun at Japan’s largest indoor wave pool; and relaxation in the Kirin-no Yu open-air bath.
Once guests have worked up an appetite, they can satisfy their taste buds and curiosity with Japanese and international delicacies, including fresh seafood, at Tomamu’s Itara restaurant, and speciality Japanese Yakiniku barbecue at a la carte restaurant, Haku. Japanese tea lessons, as well as Japanese sake and whisky
tasting can be savoured at Cloud 9 The Nest bar with panoramic views of the slopes, and guests can also enjoy live performances fire side at an outdoor lounge at the cosy Unkai Bar.
For children, Club Med makes the snow experience a truly memorable and easy one, with dedicated, age-appropriate Kids Clubs for tots aged from two through to teens aged 17. The resort’s snow garden is a paradise of snow lessons and games with specialist GOs and multicultural new friends.
