Last night (05 Oct), Duncan Pegg, the State Labor MP for Stretton, and Australian swimming legend, Hayley Lewis, joined Quest General Manager – Franchise Operations, David Ridgeway, to officially open Quest Eight Mile Plains in Brisbane.
Ridgeway said he was delighted to formally open Quest Eight Mile Plains, adding 90 rooms to the Brisbane market.
“Last night’s opening was a continuation of Quest’s assertive growth strategy within the Brisbane market, helping to meet continually increasing demands for premium accommodation for the business traveller segment,” he said.
“Visitor numbers to Brisbane continue to increase year-on-year, with Tourism and Events Queensland recording 1.5 million domestic business travellers and 106,000 international business travellers, year ending March 2017.
“Opening Quest Eight Mile Plains is an amazing opportunity as we see Eight Mile Plains continuing to develop, fuelled by the Brisbane Technology Park, which is home to over 150 national and multi-national companies working across the biotech, health and medical, mining, communications, electronics, and software development industries,” Ridgeway said.
Pegg said the Palaszczuk Government is committed to building a future-focused Queensland.
“Expanding the Technology Park with much needed corporate accommodation will build on Queensland’s reputation as the state of innovation with world class facilities that support knowledge-based jobs and industries,” he said.
“The Brisbane Technology Park was an initiative of a Labor Government in 2001 and the addition of accommodation with Quest Eight Mile Plains builds on this innovative business hub.”
Quest Eight Mile Plains Franchisees, Michael and Nicole Carr, said they were pleased to officially open the property and provide much needed corporate accommodation to Brisbane Technology Park occupants.
“We are excited to be officially opening Quest Eight Mile Plains today, sharing the experience with many members of the supportive local business community,” they said.
“Situated at the southern junction of Brisbane’s arterial road system, guests of the new property will have easy access to the Pacific, Gateway and Logan Motorways, just a 12-minute drive from the CBD and 20-minutes from the Domestic and International airports.”
Developed by Greystone, Quest Eight Mile Plains features 90 apartments – a mix of studio and one, two and three bedroom apartments. The purpose-built property provides the perfect ‘home away from home’ with fully-equipped kitchen, business lounge and on-site gymnasium.
