Hamilton Island has confirmed a record year for corporate bookings in 2016 and will host its largest ever business event later this year.
Speaking exclusively to HM at AIME in Melbourne this week, Hamilton Island business development executive, Emily Elkington, said strong demand for business events continues for the destination.
“2016 was a record year for business events on Hamilton Island,” she said.
“We have our biggest event in September, from the housing sector, with 800 people in attendance. Delegates will be located across all property types with the Reef View Hotel hosting the majority of delegates as well as holiday homes, while VIPs will be staying at Qualia and at the Beach Club,” she said.
Elkington said demand for Hamilton Island is maintained throughout the year, not just throughout the peak leisure periods.
“We are sitting at about 95 per cent occupancy currently, and is not dwindling much in the months to come.
“There is still a huge number of enquiries for events on Hamilton Island. My advice is book in early, as with the demand from the leisure market short lead bookings are very difficult to accommodate,” she said.
