Wyndham Hotel Surfers Paradise has won an international award for best interior design at the Perspective Magazine Awards held in Orlando, Florida this month.
The hotel is a mixed-use property offering stylish apartment accommodation to hotel guests, along with timeshare owners in the WordMark South Pacific Club by Wyndham, CLUB WYNDHAM ASIA and RCI Exchange guests.
The hotel’s recently refurbished two-bedroom grand suite was recognised for its wow factor at the prestigious awards. The grand suite revamp was part of an overall 1.6 million dollar refurbishment of 64 apartments at Wyndham Surfers Paradise, which took place during 2016.
“We are delighted to have received this award,” said Craig Alcock Senior Manager Property Development and Facilities.
“We strive to create meaningful spaces that help to create personalised and memorable experiences for our guests.
“The apartments have been designed to have an ambience that reflects the beach – which is just a short walk from Wyndham Surfers Paradise.
The new colour palette features sandy tones that are reminiscent of the world-class beach and complementary pops of orange to signify the sun,” he said.
The artwork within the apartments features local beachside and famous Gold Coast landmarks in black and white photography from the 1970s.
“The Gold Coast has evolved very quickly and the older pictures help to emphasise the rapid growth and reinforce the city’s colourful history as an all-year tourist town,” Alcock said.
Considered to be one of the highest accolades in the global timeshare industry, the Perspective Magazine Awards were held for the 7th year. Winners were determined by a panel of four judges along with online votes from the public where each judge represented 20 percent of the nominee’s overall score and the public vote accounted for the remaining 20 percent.
Wyndham staff and departments were recognised across the board at the 2017 Perspective Awards for their innovation and dedication to the industry, also receiving accolades for marketing performance and best online media.
Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific President and Managing Director, Barry Robinson said it was an honour for the company to be recognised for making such a significant contribution to the industry.
