TravMedia’s inaugural USA International Media Marketplace (IMM) in New York last week (Jan 26) has been hailed a success by exhibitors and attendees alike.
Over 400 media and travel PR representatives convened on the newly revitalized InterContinental New York Barclay, where collectively they participated in 3,250 pre-scheduled, one-on-one appointments, plus many more networking opportunities across multiple catered events.
“TravMedia IMM USA was one of the best events we’ve held anywhere in the world,” said TravMedia founder, Nick Wayland. “The caliber of journalists and PR representatives was absolutely world class and we had both attendees and exhibitors come to New York City from right across the world – from Australia to Singapore, Canada and Germany – and lots of great meetings were had.
“Editors and journalists got loads of leads for stories, PRs got to meet some media for the first time and many said the event surpassed their expectations.
“TravMedia IMM USA will return to New York in 2018, with plans for an even larger venue, and based on the positive feedback, we anticipate a terrific turnout again,” he said.
An exclusive evening reception on the 80th floor of the Empire State Building capped off the event for more than 250 media and industry guests who were transported on Open Loop double decker buses, compliments of host city partner, NYC and Company, and TravMedia.
NYC and Company also curated a range of familiarization experiences across all five boroughs for 50 media taking part in the IMM Hosted Media Program (IMMHMP).
TravMedia’s IMM has become one of the leading travel industry event to meets the media. Upcoming 2017 International Media Marketplace events include: IMM Australia in Sydney on February 24; IMM Germany in Berlin the day before ITB on March 7; IMM UK in London on March 13; and IMM Asia in Singapore just prior to ITB Asia on October 24.
