Multiplex has commenced work on Fragrance Group’s AUD$315 million apartment and hotel project Premier Tower, located on the corner of Spencer and Bourke Streets in Melbourne’s CBD.
Designed by architects Elenberg Fraser, Premier Tower spans 79 levels and features a distinctive ‘wave like’ curved design.
The high-rise tower will comprise a mix of apartments, hotel guest rooms, cafes and retail spaces. It will provide a total of 796 apartments in a variety of one, two and three bedroom configurations offering Melbourne CBD views. In addition, a six level podium of hotel accommodation will provide 187 rooms.
Premier Tower will also feature a range of exclusive resident facilities including indoor heated pools, gymnasiums, barbeque areas, virtual golf, billiards/poker rooms and theatre rooms.
“We are delighted to deliver this distinctive high-rise tower to Melbourne. It is set to fast become a landmark in the CBD,” said Graham Cottam, Regional Managing Director at Multiplex.
The Savoy Tavern is currently situated on-site and will be demolished as part of the project and construction of Premier Tower is expected to be complete late in 2020 and will create an estimated 600 jobs.
