InterContinental Hotels and Resorts in Australia has announced the launch of the InterContinental Worldly Classics pop-up on 9 November, in a testament to a remarkable 70 years of luxury and culinary legacy.

Located inside the InterContinental Sydney lobby gallery, the pop-up personifies a rich heritage of wine and dining excellence and will be activated as an exclusive pop-up restaurant for private event use and cocktail masterclasses until 30 November 2016.

The one-off activation is the only of its kind in Australia, designed to celebrate a heritage of aspirational worldly travel, which has become synonymous with The InterContinental Life.

The aptly named Worldly Classics pop-up has been themed to evoke a multi-sensory experience with a montage of prints illustrating the brand’s history, an exclusive installation of David Larwill artwork and sculptures, live cocktail station and a grand dining table for 22, all of which is brought to life through the Worldly Classics philosophy.

An essential edit of seven cocktails, Worldly Classics presents an exquisitely paired cocktails and canapés collection created by renowned mixologist, Nick Braun, exclusively for the InterContinental 70th anniversary.

The elaborate cocktail station will be a fixed feature in the gallery and fuse the finest ingredients from around the globe with a twist of local know-how.

InterContinental Sydney General Manager and Area General Manager Mulpha Hotels Australia, Jörg T. Böckeler, said: “Creating exceptional food and beverage experiences has been the fabric of InterContinental since its beginning.

“There was no better way to honour our past and celebrate the innovation of our future than through a culinary activation and we’re tremendously proud to be able to share this with our guests both locally and internationally,” he said.

The brand currently boasts a number of Michelin-starred restaurants, award-winning chefs and restaurant awards across its hotels and resorts globally – including the 2016 World Luxury Restaurant Award for 117 dining at InterContinental Sydney – strengthening its long legacy of culinary excellence.

The Worldly Classics pop-up will be available for private venue use and cocktail masterclasses strictly until the end of the month.
