The opening date for the new-build Four Points by Sheraton, Melbourne Docklands has been revealed as March 2017.
Featuring 273 guest rooms and suites with harbour and city views, the hotel will feature an all-day dining restaurant and a fitness centre with a heated, outdoor swimming pool.
Meeting and event planners can choose from over 500 square metres of flexible meeting and function space, as well as a great outdoor deck area for cocktail events. All meeting rooms come fully equipped with WiFi and state-of-the-art AV equipment and offer flexible set-ups.
Leading the hotel will be General Manager, Stephen Ferrigno, recently appointed to the position.
“I am honoured to be a part of the opening team for Four Points by Sheraton, Melbourne Docklands,” Ferrigno said.
“I started my career as a porter for a new hotel and know from experience that a strong team of associates, who work well together, is essential for a successful opening. Consequently, I’m looking forward to starting the recruitment process and establishing a winning culture amongst the team.
“Four Points by Sheraton, Melbourne Docklands has enormous potential and my goal over the next year is to exceed the expectations of both our guests and our owner,” he said.
With over 20 years’ experience working for Marriott International, which recently completed its merger transaction of Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Ferrigno brings a wealth of experience to his new role.
He is returning to Melbourne after nine years as General Manager for the recent Sheraton Noosa Resort and Spa, where he successfully led the hotel’s refurbishment and subsequently drove the hotel to record gross operating profits.
Prior to this, Ferrigno was Hotel Manager for Four Points by Sheraton Sydney, Darling Harbour before being appointed General Manager of Four Points by Sheraton, Geelong, Victoria.
As General Manager for Four Points by Sheraton, Melbourne Docklands, Ferrigno will report into Sean Hunt, Area Vice President, Australia, New Zealand & Pacific, Marriott International.
“Stephen brings valuable experience to Four Points by Sheraton, Melbourne Docklands that will play a key role in the successful opening of the hotel,” Hunt said.
“His background working for Marriott International’s flagship hotels in the Pacific means guests can expect the arrival of a leading hotel offering high levels of customer service.”
