In a South Pacific and Australasian tourism boost, Fiji Airways has launched a new direct service to San Francisco.
Operating twice a week on its flagship A330 aircraft, the new direct service from Nadi offers Australian and American holidaymakers and business travellers a new way to fly to through the popular US gatweway.
“We’re delighted to launch our third U.S. service, with Fiji Airways now flying to San Francisco, as well as L.A. and Honolulu. As we continue to expand the network and grow the airline, the new route further extends our reach in North America, as San Francisco also allows onward connections to most U.S. and Canadian cities,” said Andre Viljoen, Managing Director and CEO of Fiji Airways.
As well as experiencing the famous friendly Fijian hospitality on-board the A330, passengers have the benefit of an all-inclusive service including check-in luggage allowance, in-flight entertainment, and an array of food and drink options onboard. Extra legroom seats and pre-paid excess baggage are also available for purchase.
In line with U.S. vacation periods, the new service will be seasonal, operating from June to August and in December and January.
“The new route is also expected to help drive increased visitation to Fiji from the United States,” Vijoen said.
Fiji Airways flies to Nadi twice daily from Sydney, daily from Brisbane, and from Melbourne five times a week.
The direct service from Nadi to San Francisco operates on Thursdays and Sundays.
