Pan Pacific Hotels Group (PPHG) has appointed Kurt Otto Wehinger as Area General Manager Oceania with a concurrent appointment as General Manager of Parkroyal Darling Harbour, Sydney.
Kurt, a hospitality veteran with more than 30 years of experience, was most recently the General Manager of the Marina Mandarin Singapore, a position he held for more than six years.
Prior to that, he was the first General Manager of the Grand Millennium Beijing, a flagship property under Millennium and Copthorne which opened in time for the Beijing Olympics.
An Austrian national, Kurt’s career has taken him to various destinations in Europe, Asia, Australia the Middle East as well as the US, where he managed hotels under international brands including Kempinski and Intercontinental.
In his role as Area General Manager Oceania, Kurt will be responsible for driving the financial performance and operations for the Group’s hotels in Oceania, which, in addition to Parkroyal Darling Harbour, Sydney, include Parkroyal Melbourne Airport, Parkroyal Parramatta, and Pan Pacific Perth. As General Manager for the award-winning Parkroyal Darling Harbour, Sydney, Kurt will oversee the operations of the 340-room hotel, which is located on the city side of Darling Harbour and within close proximity to the Sydney Convention and Entertainment Centre and the Queen Victoria Building.
Kurt has accumulated numerous accolades throughout his career, notably, he was World Luxury Hotel Awards’ Global General Manager of the Year in 2015, Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards Singapore’s General Manager of the Year from 2011 to 2013 and City Weekend’s Best Foreign Hotelier in China, 2009.
