Exclusive by James Wilkinson
United’s Managing Director of Japan and Pacific Sales, Alison Espley, is expecting a solid year for the airline’s routes to Australia in 2016.
Speaking exclusively to HM on video at the celebration marking United’s 30 years of service to Australia, she said the outlook was good for the Los Angeles and San Francisco services and the Los Angeles-Melbourne flights.
She said it was a big year for United, with the airline moving to an all-Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner service on all Australian routes, with flights from Sydney to Los Angeles and San Francisco, changing over to the revolutionary jet on March 27 and March 28, 2016 respectively.
The Boeing 787-9 already operates the airline’s Melbourne-Los Angeles nonstop service, while United will launch nonstop Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner flights between Auckland and San Francisco on July 3, 2016.
