TFE Hotels is set to open the doors on its newest New Zealand hotel on December 1, the Adina Apartment Hotel Auckland, Britomart, located in the CBD only 1 minute from Vector Arena, the first Adina Apartment Hotel to enter the New Zealand market.
The opening comes at an ideal time for Auckland’s stretched hospitality sector, with New Zealand visitor numbers surpassing the three-million mark for the first time, up 7% on last year.
Coupled with this, Colliers International’s latest New Zealand Hotel Market Snapshot shows that, despite increased demand and record-high market occupancy, Auckland hotel room supply actually went down 2.1% since their last update in May 2015.
The Adina Apartment Hotel Auckland opening will come as welcome news to the council whose Auckland Visitor Plan 2021 outlines a six-year growth plan that will require up to 3,400 new hotel rooms introduced over that period to hit their ambitious growth targets.
The new Auckland property will offer 140 stylish and modern apartments, located just a short stroll from the waterfront. Contemporary in design; the rooms are appointed with fully equipped kitchens and kitchenettes, comfortable living space and laundries in the one and two bedroom apartments, with a real focus on comfort and lifestyle, including undercover parking.
“We recognise the fantastic opportunity that exists in Auckland with the significant growth in tourist arrivals, and Auckland’s position as an Asia-Pacific hub,” said TFE Hotels CEO, Rachel Argaman.
“We are thrilled to be able to provide Auckland visitors with a premium accommodation option allowing them to see the best of the city with all of the independence and amenities valued by a modern traveller,” she said.
From February, the hotel will open an on-site gym and also operate a bar and café, offering a range of locally sourced food and wine where guests can dine, relax and feel at home. Meeting facilities will include two conference rooms, one catering to 45 people theatre style and the other a boardroom for 12.
Argaman believes the thriving Auckland market is a perfect fit for Adina’s premium style apartments.
“The modern explorer is independent with all the latest travel tools and technology at their disposal.
“They want a hotel that facilitates their experience of the wider city, in a way that an Auckland local would. Adina’s spacious apartment-style living, with the added benefit of hotel services definitely ticks that box and is perfect for business travellers, families and longer stays,” she said.
Russell Property Group spokesperson, Brett Russell, said: “We’re thrilled to see the very first Adina in New Zealand, Adina Apartment Hotel Auckland, Britomart come to fruition. Adina Apartment Hotels is a well-respected brand globally and their signature premium offering will be a great fit here on the Auckland waterfront.”
