Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group’s President of Asia-Pacific, Thorsten Kirschke, says the company is closing in on signing new deals in Brisbane and Perth as part of a significant expansion across Australasia.
Speaking to HM in Sydney this week (Jul 29), Kirschke said the company’s new innovative Radisson Red brand could appear on at least one of the properties, while discussions were also taking place in New Zealand and Fiji.
“Our expansion plans for Australasia are backed by 17 years of experience in the region,” he said. “The tourism outlook is positive, especially in Australia where the forecast is for continued growth and where demand for rooms is projected to outstrip supply over the next three years.”
Kirschke said the expansion of the company would also mean more staff based at Carlson’s Sydney offices.
“To better position ourselves to seize the opportunities, we are growing our team to include a dedicated Australasia hotel development function based in Sydney and also introducing our full portfolio of brands including Radisson Red, Park Inn by Radisson and Country Inns and Suites By Carlson brands to the region,” he said.
Kirschke said there’s also strong potential of its Park Inn by Radisson brand in Australasia, while the company is also gearing up to roll out Country Inns and Suites By Carlson brand with a focus on the regional centres of Australia and New Zealand.
