His Holiness the Dalai Lama has touched down at Fairmont Resort Blue Mountains MGallery to begin his five-day ‘Ocean of Wisdom’ Retreat and advanced Buddhist teaching to more than 650 visitors from around Australia and the world.
Fairmont Resort Blue Mountains General Manager, Bernie Boller, welcomed His Holiness, before he made his way along the bridge and into the lobby of the resort where he was greeted by a long line of Fairmont Resort staff and attendees.
“It has been an amazing morning in the Blue Mountains. With the sun shining over the Jamison Valley and with His Holiness the Dalai Lama in our presence, the positive aura felt by everyone at the resort has been incredible,” he said.
“His Holiness generously greeted and interacted with our staff and guests during his arrival which has left us all feeling very humbled and incredibly lucky.
“We are privileged to have His Holiness stay with us for the duration of his retreat and we look forward to making the Fairmont his home away from home,” he said.
After greeting staff and guests of the hotel, Boller escorted His Holiness the Dalai Lama to a newly-built Grand Luxury Suite, which is part of 12 new rooms and suites which have been built at the resort in preparation for the Dalai Lama’s arrival.
This week, His Holiness the Dalai Lama will embark on five days of teachings which will take place in the Grand Ballroom of the Fairmont Resort.
The resort will be hosting up to 650 attendees over the duration of the retreat, which will include Highest Yoga Tantra Initiation sessions and Teachings for serious Buddhist practitioners to progress to the next level of practice.
On Tuesday 9 June, His Holiness the Dalai Lama will be taking part in a tree planting ceremony at the resort where he will bless a specifically planted Wollemi Pine that will be a focal point for the lobby of the Resorts’ new wellness centre lobby.
The Wollemi Pine will be planted in conjunction with Planet Ark.
