Golden Chain, one of Australia’s most established accommodation groups, has appointed Mark Loneragan as its new General Manager to drive stronger growth for its 250 chain of owner operator motels, motor inns, hotels, tourist parks and resorts.
Golden Chain locations also include New Zealand, Bali, Thailand and Vanuatu.
Loneragan enjoys 20-years experience in the management of small, medium and large hospitality properties in Australia and the UK including sales, marketing, media and operations.
“Mark’s skills and experience will greatly assist in developing stronger business and profitability for our members and driving Golden Chain’s performance to new levels,” said Golden Chain Chairman, David Humphreys.
“Increasing bookings and adding value for members is high on our agenda as well as reinforcing the strength of our national footprint.
“We are entering a new era in our brand value and standards and we will be actively supporting Mr Loneragan in his pursuit of these outcomes,” Humphreys said.
He was formerly the National Relationships Manager at the Accommodation Association of Australia (AAoA) and several years ago was the Sales and Marketing Manager for HM magazine and the HM Awards.
“The Golden Chain conference in 2013 demonstrated to me how passionate and hard-working were the people behind the brand,” Loneragan said.
“I left with a desire to one day work with such a group and so I am genuinely delighted to have an opportunity make a real contribution to the exciting future for Golden Chain.
“Golden Chain has an unmatched footprint around Australia with a highly visible and respected brand offering great potential.
“I look forward to supporting and assisting members, developing and growing the brand further and cementing Golden Chain reputation as Australia’s largest and most family friendly accommodation chain,” he said.
