Amora Hotel Riverwalk Melbourne is powering ahead with renewable energy and as part of the hotel’s commitment to the environment, the property has recently installed 220 rooftop solar panels, to provide 15-20% of the hotel’s electricity requirements.
The 55kw solar power system, which was installed by Environ, will also reduce the hotel’s greenhouse gas emissions by an estimated 110 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year.
“We are always looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint as well as enhance the services offered to guests,” said Amora Hotel Riverwalk Melbourne General Manager, Tim Bilston.
“This is just one of a number of environmental initiatives that the hotel employs to ensure that we can move towards best practice in sustainable tourism.”
