After making three rapid acquisitions in Australia, Ovolo Hotels COO, Dirk Dalichau has confirmed that these will not be the last for this market.
Speaking exclusively to HM on video in Hong Kong this week, Dalichau said Australia is the perfect market for their brand of design-focused hotels that also deliver superior service as well as a range of benefits for guests including free minibar, complimentary WiFi and free breakfast.
“We would like to have hotels in Perth, Brisbane and Canberra and potentially more in Sydney,” he said. “We are looking at two opportunities in New Zealand – that is one of our key focuses and in the long term it would be nice to have properties in New York, London and Los Angeles as this would suit the brand, but the key focus at the moment is Australia.”
Australia is also the largest source market in Ovolo’s domestic market of Hong Kong, Dalichau said.
