United States skiing operator Vail Resorts is looking at increasing its hotel portfolio at the same time as the company continues to buy ski fields across America.
Speaking exclusively on video to HM in Sydney recently, Vail Resorts CEO Rob Katz said increasing the company’s accommodation bank was a major priority.
He also spoke about the recent acquisition of Park City Resort and Canyons Resort in Utah and the plan to combine the two and create the largest ski resort in the United States.
Katz also oversees the Vail Resorts Development Company – the luxury resort developer; RockResorts; National Parks contracts such as Wyoming-based Grand Teton Lodge Company; Legendary Lodging property management which manages thousands of hotel and condominiums in the U.S. and Caribbean; Iconic Weddings, offering wedding services in their destinations; Colorado Mountain Express, a ground transportation company; numerous golf courses, a marina and more.
Australia is a top three market for Vail Resorts and Katz also said he was positive about the upcoming Northern Hemisphere winter. He noted the company’s Epic Pass was continuing to be popular for Australians, given the value on offer.
