Almost 90% of Australian travellers staying in hotels want a free breakfast, a new survey from lastminute.com.au has revealed.
The survey of 5700-plus people rated a free breakfast (89%) ahead of any other hotel freebie, including a free upgrade (79%), free late check out (72%), free WiFi (71%), free parking (56%) and complimentary wine (44%).
According to lastminute.com.au spokesperson Louise Ryan, the research shows Aussies not only love the satisfaction of nabbing a freebie, they are also getting more bang for their buck out of their holiday with hotels providing some incredible inclusions for holiday makers.
“It is not surprising breakfast tops as the number one freebie. Who doesn’t love the convenience and savings of hitting up a hotel breakfast?” she said.
“Knowing our penchant for inclusions, hotels have started getting more creative and fun when it comes to freebies, with lastminute.com.au hotel partners offering everything from complimentary sangria jugs, to espresso martinis, spa treatments, cooking classes and even petrol vouchers for savvy consumers,” Ryan said.
