Exclusive by James Wilkinson in Brisbane
Ritz-Carlton’s President Herve Humler says the company is looking to expand to Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, following demand for the brand in Australia on the back to the Elizabeth Quay signing in Perth.
Speaking exclusively on video to HM at the Marriott Brisbane recently, Humler said having the brand returning to Australia “is an exciting moment”.
“We are going to start with Perth and I have been in Australia looking at potentially great destinations,” he said. “Brisbane would be one of them, Melbourne would be one and for sure I want our flag back in Sydney very soon.
“There is no announcement to be made [right] now, but we are working very closely with some partners in order to make sure we can grow the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company in Australia,” he said.
In the video, Humler also talks about the latest technology offerings from the company, including the ability to order cocktails from a smartphone while lying by the pool.
Part two of the interview with Humler will be broadcast on Friday October 10.
