Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide has opened the Sheraton New Caledonia Deva Resort and Spa.
Owned by the Société Hotelière de Deva, the new-build resort is one of five Sheraton properties opening across the Pacific region in 2014.
“We are delighted to expand the Sheraton brand’s global resorts portfolio with the opening of Sheraton New Caledonia Deva Resort and Spa, a spectacular, oceanfront property in one of the most sought-after vacation spots in the Pacific,” said Sean Hunt, Regional Vice President, Pacific, Starwood Hotels and Resorts

Nestled on the west coast of New Caledonia’s main island in the Pacific Ocean, 2,000 miles off the east coast of Australia, Sheraton New Caledonia Deva Resort and Spa sits at the base of the Deva Domain. Surrounded by vast natural preserves, the hotel also faces the UNESCO World Heritage-listed lagoon and reef that is rich in marine fauna and flora. Guests can enjoy a variety of aquatic and recreational activities including sailing, windsurfing, jet skiing, wakeboarding and boating. World-class resort amenities include the largest outdoor resort pool in New Caledonia, including a warm water Jacuzzi, and the Deep Nature Spa complete with a cardio fitness area. In addition, the resort will open a driving range by the end 2014 and a championship-level 18-hole golf course by April 2015.
The resort presents an ideal choice for family holidays with the introduction of New Caledonia’s first Sheraton Kids’ Club. Managed by Atout Bout’Chou, a New Caledonian company operating private educational kindergartens, the Kids Club caters to children between the ages of two to 12 and offers a wide range of interactive and educational activities.
Located 90 minutes from La Tontouta International Airport, Sheraton New Caledonia Deva Resort & Spa boasts 180 luxurious guestrooms, including 60 bungalows designed to reflect traditional Melanesian architecture and 40 suites with one, two and three-bed options, all including a kitchenette. A dedicated conference and events team is on hand to provide ongoing support to ensure all meetings, events and conferences are a success for both business guests and planners.
Guests will enjoy an enticing menu of regional cuisine at the hotel’s welcoming Reef restaurant, as well as buffet spreads, live cooking stations and à la carte options. The poolside Sand Beach Grill provides guests the chance to design their own meal with premium selections of meats and fish cooked to personal preferences, while enjoying breathtaking views of the lagoon. The Creek Bar, an extended area of the lobby overlooking the pool, serves signature cocktails and offers one of the largest selections of rums in New Caledonia.
