Despite Adelaide coming out on top in the recent battle of the major cities, it’s Melbourne’s turn to earn the bragging rights for the top rated hotel in Australia, according to reviews on travel website Wotif.com.
Wotif.com is celebrating the milestone of publishing more than 1 million real reviews for Australian hotels by releasing the favourite places to stay in Australia’s top destinations – with Wotif.com reviewers rating The Langham in Melbourne, the best hotel.
Product Director, Donna Rodios said The Langham had taken the top spot with an overall review score from Wotif.com reviewers of 4.74 (out of 5).
“We’re celebrating cracking 1 million Australian hotel reviews and the fact that Wotif.com is number one for Australian hotel reviews by releasing the top rated hotel in each of our most popular destinations,” Rodios said.
“There’s no denying The Langham in Melbourne is an iconic luxury property which prides itself on its impeccable standard of service. Its number one ranking by Wotif.com reviewers evidences The Langham’s focus on quality service and ensuring a superior guest experience.
“Some of the most popular words used to describe The Langham on Wotif.com guest reviews are testament to its high standard of customer service, with the likes of ‘outstanding service’, ‘go the extra mile’ and ‘professional’ making a regular appearance.”
Managing Director of The Langham Melbourne, Ben Sington, said he was delighted with the hotel’s top ranking.
“Our focus is on service and guest satisfaction, so it is pleasing when Wotif.com guests take the time to share their experience with other travellers,” Sington said.
“We value their comments and it is extremely motivating to receive such an endorsement.”
Rodios said there was a clear trend with five star properties taking out the top spots in each destination, with a Sydney hotel ranked number two followed by Adelaide at number three.
“The Westin Sydney is the second top hotel according to Wotif.com reviewers, followed by The Playford Adelaide – MGallery,” Rodios said.
“Each of the hotels in the top ten list are the best rated hotels in their destination based on reviews scores and number of reviews, up to 1 June 2014.”
