PULLMAN AUCKLAND TWILIGHT exterior - EDITED

The 2014 New Zealand Hotel Industry Conference is set to be held on June 5 at Pullman Auckland.

The New Zealand Hotel Industry Conference, now in its eighth year, is co-hosted by Horwath HTL Ltd and the Tourism Industry Association New Zealand.

The highly respected and successful conference is a must-attend event for managers and stakeholders in the New Zealand hotel sector.

In 2013, the fast moving one day conference was attended by about 250 delegates, sponsors, exhibitors, hotel management, investors, developers, hotel chains, government agencies and hotel industry consultants (including lawyers, banks, valuers, architects, real estate firms and interior designers).

The co-hosts said they are pleased that 10-15% of the delegates attending the hotel conference in recent years have been from overseas and also proud that they have had the continuing support of most of the 20 sponsors over the past seven years.

The Platinum Sponsor for 2014 is again Accor.

Horwath HTL’s Terry Ngan said the event will provide attendees with the “opportunity to gather valuable information, business improvement advice and market knowledge from international and local specialists on key hotel industry topics”.

“Potential 2014 topics, based on feedback from previous conference attendees, and subject to review by the programme advisory committee for the hotel conference include the outlook for global and domestic economies and impact on tourism, yield and revenue management, hotel investment trends, luxury hotels, mixed use developments, social media, hotel rating systems, hotel technology trends and independent hotels,” he said.

The conference dinner will again celebrate excellence in the New Zealand hotel industry with the presentation of three awards for Senior Hotel Executive of the Year, Outstanding Young Hotel Executive and Environmental Initiative.

Registrants to the New Zealand Hotel Industry Conference will gain complimentary entry to the technical seminar on Wednesday afternoon, June 4.

This three hour interactive seminar in recent years has discussed key issues such as hotel investment, sales, valuation, management contracts, Unit Title Act, insurances and Christchurch rebuilding in respect of hotels and serviced apartments.

Background on previous hotel conferences can be found on the hotel conference website www.nzhotelconference.com and details of the 2014 event, including registration, will be available in the New Year.
