Ramada is set to make its debut in Fiji, following the signing of a franchise agreement with Smugglers Cove Beach Resort.
The 40-apartment Ramada Suites Smugglers Cove Fiji, currently under construction on Wailoaloa Beach in Nadi Bay, is due to be completed in early 2015.
It will be located next to the existing Smugglers Cove Beach Resort, which features budget accommodation along with a restaurant and bar, and diving and water activities.
“We are excited to be developing this new beachside resort with an internationally experienced Ramada hotel brand behind it,” said Mark Hinton, Director of Smugglers Cove Beach Resort Limited, the developer and franchisee of the new property.
“We selected the Ramada Suites brand for this development because of the reputation and reach of the Ramada brand throughout the world.
“We were also impressed by the marketing capabilities of Wyndham Hotel Group, and the fact that the South Pacific head office for Ramada, with its 680 strong staff is located in Australia,” he said.
Ramada Suites Smugglers Cove Fiji will offer a mix of studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments, as well as a massage and spa facility, a fitness centre, a lap pool and a gourmet deli.
“We are delighted to announce the expansion of the Ramada brand into Fiji, a destination which has been popular with travellers for decades and one that is essential to the brand’s growth in the region,” said Barry Robinson, Managing Director of Wyndham Hotel Group in the South Pacific.
“We look forward to welcoming Ramada Suites Smugglers Cove Fiji and providing guests with the superior amenities and service associated with the Ramada brand.”
Robinson said the agreement plays a key role in Wyndham Hotel Group’s strategy to grow the Ramada brand throughout the South Pacific.
The signing adds a new destination to the brand’s network of nearly 830 hotels worldwide, including 11 hotels currently open and operating in Australia, New Zealand, Guam and New Caledonia.
