AHL’s new mid-market brand Atura is set to make its debut next Tuesday (Oct 15) when the company’s first property opens in Blacktown, Western Sydney.
The design-driven, 122-room Atura Blacktown will no doubt shake up the mid-market segment in not just Western Sydney, but across Australia, given the design – it could be mistaken for a QT lobby – and what’s included in the $130 opening rate.
For $130 (for members of AHL’s free-to-join Priority Guest Rewards program, or $145 for non-members), guests will get not just rooms that come complete with ensuites, king beds and a sofabed, but also 42-inch flatscreen TVs with complimentary movies.
There’s also complimentary WiFi in the rooms and lobby areas, plus free local calls and complimentary coffee pods.
Bathroom amenities are from Malin and Goetz, the same as those found in amenity kits for international guests in Qantas Business Class.
The property also features a bar and grill, gymnasium, outdoor pool and five conference rooms capable of hosting up to 150 people.
According to a spokesperson for AHL, the Blacktown property is the “first of potentially six over the next three years” in what is an ambitious roll-out for the brand, being headed up by the 2012 HM Awards Australian General Manager of the Year, Geoffrey York.
York was formerly General Manager of Dr Jerry Schwartz’s Fairmont Resort by MGallery in the New South Wales Blue Mountains.
Atura Blacktown is located next to the new-build Wet and Wild waterpark and adjacent to the last drive-in theatre in Sydney, set to open on October 25.
The spokesperson said rates at Atura Blacktown are expected to start from $165 from December after the opening special deal.
