More than 80 Franchise hotel and corporate office staff came together at the 5-star Pullman Sydney Hyde Park last Wednesday night (Sep 25) to celebrate the achievements of colleagues at the Accor Pacific Franchise Awards.
In its third year, the Accor Pacific Franchise Awards recognises outstanding hotel performance from more than 70 hotels across Australia and New Zealand and acknowledges individuals for their services of excellence.
Hosted by Channel Seven’s personality Larry Emdur alongside General Manager Franchise Hotels, Dino Mezzatesta, the night was a resounding success with 8 major awards presented to Accor’s franchise hotels.
In taking out the night’s major award, Novotel Sydney Rooty Hill took home Accor Pacific Franchise of the Year and was also crowned Novotel of the Year, both for the second consecutive year.
The General Manager of the Year Award which recognises a leader who adopts Accor’s values of Innovation, Respect, Trust, Spirit of Conquest and Performance was awarded to Chris Abel, general manager at Mercure Centro Port Macquarie.
Mercure Hunter Valley Gardens won the Franchise Loyalty Award thanks to its proven engagement with Accor’s loyalty programs, while Ibis Styles Melbourne, The Victoria Hotel took out the Franchise Customer Service Award.
In addition to the Franchise Customer Service Award, Ibis Styles Melbourne, The Victoria Hotel was awarded the Ibis Styles property of the Year in the Ibis brand category, Mercure Gladstone achieved top honours as Mercure of the Year, while The Sebel Coolangatta was crowned the winner in the Grand Mercure & Sebel brand category.
General Manager of Franchise Hotels, Dino Mezzatesta, said: “Over the last year, Accor has welcomed six hotels to its portfolio including the new-build Sebel Docklands, Mercure North Melbourne, Mercure Melbourne Therry Street, Mercure Port of Echuca, Ibis Styles Lansvale and Ibis Styles Orange.
“It has been a busy year for us and it’s wonderful to be able to come together on a night such as this and recognise the achievements of our Franchise hotels.”
Each award category aims to showcase the improvements, enhancements and developments of a Franchise property under the Accor umbrella, while recognising individual property performances and successes across Australia and New Zealand.
