Mantra Group is set to add up to six more properties in Indonesia as the company continues its expansion in South East Asia.
Speaking at HotelsWorld in Sydney today (Jul 24), Mantra Group CEO Bob East said the company’s growth in Indonesia was gathering steam.
“We are looking at six projects in Indonesia,” he told the audience of owners, investors, managers and suppliers at the event.
The revelation comes just months after Mantra Group opened its first property in Indonesia, in Nusa Dua, on the Island of Bali.
Mantra Nusa Dua, as exclusively revealed by HM in October 2012, debuted earlier this year, marking the first foray into Asia for the Gold Coast-based business.
Speaking to HM at HotelsWorld shortly after East’s comments, a spokesperson for Mantra Group said the properties were expected to be branded under the Peppers, Mantra and Breakfree flags.
“We expect to announce our first Breakfree in the popular Seminyak-Legian area and we also expect to add another Mantra to our stable in the same area by the end of the year,” the spokesperson said.
“We also expect to announce two Peppers properties in the first quarter of 2014.”
The growth of Mantra in Indonesia comes on the back of continued growth in the nation from Australia travellers, something that is showing no signs of slowing down.
Fuelling that growth, Garuda Indonesia recently announced the commencement of flights from Brisbane to Denpasar, while Jetstar is set to launch direct flights between Perth and Lombok later this year.
